Theatre Trip To See Matilda

Thursday 29th October. 5.40 p.m. I have just returned from seeing the musical 'Matilda' which has been running at the Milton Keynes Theatre. The place was packed. There was a peroblem with the ATG app, which had the ticket on it, but it would not open. These things arefine when they work, but when they fail, it causes more stress. I was given the seat number and the entrance door number, to get into the auditorium, but I was actually far further down in the stalls, so I had to walk all the way down to the box office to get them to give me the details.

Tuesday 3rd November. 10.15 a.m. The crazy world we seem to now inhabit. Did I mention about the money from Carol's teachers' pension not going into my account last week? It is supposed to appear in my bank account on the 28th of the month, and has done so from not long after her death in 2018. I can't remember exactly. It isn't a huge amount, but it does help with payments for food and so on. I thought I had made a mistake, when I first looked at my Nationwide statement, via the app and the website. This is one advantage of modern technology, the ability to keep a track on spending via the website or app. I even went to the Teachers' Pension website, but there was no immediate answer. I rang the 'so-called' helpline and I had a vague suspicion that the provider had been changed, and that things might be resolved this week. Which seemed a reasonable answer, so I was expecting my cash to appear on Monday. But no. I then rang the helpline, but you have to sit and listen to what is obviously an artificially created voice telling you that there is a long queue and that all the agents are busy. 'She', the AI produced voice, sounds as if she's either drunk or on drugs, she speaks so strangely, not in the least real, well, not to me. You can sit and wait for eternity, but, let's be honest, eternity is a very long time. I give up, and just hope things resolve themselves shortly, because I've got approximately £5 left in my bank account and my food stock is rapidly running out.

Then, the other business, about the woman from the council, something to do with welfare, who was supposed to helpt me get more benefits. I only got the letter she sent on the day AFTER the appointment she had arranged, for 19th October, which was sent too late, by the Post Office. Oh goodness, things are really falling apart in this once-great nation. We are becoming like a third-world country, a banana republic, or an imitation of what life was like under Stalin in Communist Russia.

Now another mesaage, sent via text, from a company working for the Council, telling me someone is going to come and put in a bathroom extractor fan, because of the build-up of mould when there is steam. I never ordered this, nor do I need one. When it's steamy in the bathroom, I just open the window and let out the steam, so no condensation and no mould. Simple. I need my shower unit moving up the wall, which I have mentioned on several occasions, so I can stand under it and not have to bend, because I am just over 6 feet tall. The crazy world we live in. I ask for one thing, and get told I have to have something completely different, although I really don't need it. A sort of Alice In Wonderland sort of world, back to front and upside down.
