Further to the last post about yesterday's wasted trip to Oxford and the our experiences with the park-and-ride, I have since rung the number printed on the ticket we purchased to park the car, and been told we can't have a refund and that Oxford County Council, which controls and runs the park and ride system, don't operate the busses into and out of the city. I was given the number of the bus company and gave them my address and will pass on the complaint to the driver and presumably I will get a report of the incident. I will post here what happens, if and when I get a response from them.
