Just Another Day

I took Alfie out a good deal later than I usually do. I didn't take him out at all yesterday, because Carol was asleep and I know the amount of noise he can make, barking, generally making noise, it would have woken her up. By the time I got back from church, at around 11.20, it was raining slightly and I didn't fancy either of us getting wet. I don't think it would have bothered Alfie, although he doesn't really like getting wet.

It's good deal cooler this morning. Not raining, but it's overcast. Thank goodness. The recent heat was far too much. They say, on BBC television weather, that it's likely to get hot again as the week goes on.

I had to take a document to Ashfield Medical Centre. When Carol was visited in hospital by one of the diabetic team, she was given a sheet of paper to take to the doctor's surgery which had on it the list of items which would be needed in order to take the blood sugar test each day, including the lancets which prick your finger to provide a blood sample to then get the monitor to give the blood sugar levels. One of the doctors needs to allow all the items to be prescribed and then repeated. It means that we don't have to pay for them, along with all the other medication that Carol has on repeat.

From there I went into the centre of Milton Keynes to buy some clothes in Marks and Spencer. I had some vouchers and bought underwear, socks and a polo shirt. A good selection to choose from and stocks up my wardrobe as some of my clothes are wearing out. I have to say that Marks and Spencer's men's clothes are generally good quality, and although probably a bit more expensive that some other shops I could mention they do last a good deal longer, probably because of the quality of the material used to make them and the finish is very good. I have some polo shirts which must be well over ten years old and they're wearing surprisingly well and have been through the washing machine countless times and they still look fairly good. You certainly get what you pay for.

I then drove to Sainsbury's. I think I mention Sainsbury's a considerable amount of times in my blog posts. It's quite close to where we live. In fact, we're quite spilt for choice, with Asda, Waitrose, Lidl, Aldi, Tesco and Sainsbury's within quite close proximity. On arrival in their carpark I couldn't avoid the loud noise of a child, screaming for blue murder, going up on the moving walk-way and into the store itself, then going round the various aisles, I couldn't this girl dreaming her head off and the mother doing her best to not let the child get her own way. A good clip round the ear might have helped. I was glad when I had finished my shopping and was on my way out of the store because this child was certainly making so much noise and having such a temper tantrum because she couldn't get her own way that the only way to avoid the noise and commotion was to leave for home.
