Heavy Downpour

As I write this, we are in the middle of a really heavy rainstorm. It has gone very dark, and both our  dogs are somewhat unhappy, particularly Alfie, who has decided to decamp to the sofa in the lounge. It's gone a couple of degrees colder also. I just hope this doesn't last too long, otherwise there is going to be flash flooding. The roads around here are very prone to flooding, basically because when they were built they didn't think to have proper gutters and none of the roads have cambers so the rain water drains off. Consequently, you get large puddles which can cause havoc, and mostly it would seem at the many and various roundabouts and at road junctions.
