The leaking pipes from the kitchen sink and which takes the overflow from the washing machine has now been fixed. The two men came at around 10.15 and the work was completed a good deal quicker than I expected. The ramshackle arrangement which had been there before was causing a blockage which is why it leaked from the pipe where the boiler overflow was connected. Now all sealed and sorted. I have since done some washing (one of the dogs blankets was in the machine and was in the process of being washed last week when all this started. It's now on the washing line drying as I write this.) So, things are back to -relative- normality.
