Stormy Night

It has been exceedingly warm these past few days. On Wednesday apparently it was the hottest July day on record. Yesterday it was cooler, but still warm. We went to bed with windows open and electric fan running to cool the bedroom down as much as possible. I did manage to sleep for a couple of hours, but then found it too hot and went downstairs to get a drink in the kitchen. Alfie, our Yorkie, followed me and I let him out into the garden for a while. I then went on-line and was on Facebook for a while and then read for a while. Then at exactly 12.44 there was a flash of lightening and a roll to thunder which made Alfie bark. It was the beginning of an electric storm. Very bright flashes of lightning and thunder and then it rained. Most of the storm there was very little thunder but then it rained and the storm lasted for around an hour-and-a-half.
